I am doing nothing to curb excess violets in my neighborhood.

Going plant to plant, both on foot in the yard, and online to doublecheck, I am hunting for samples of native plants that I can photograph. Can’t use sweet woodruff or sweetbox, no matter how sweetly you ask. They come from faroff shores. So, are those tiny darlings lending a watercolor tint to all the shady parts of my garden with blossoms of purple or white, native plants? The answer is Yes. And No. There are apparently several hundred varieties, and they are native to most of the world. On a web page to which I turned for a clue, the author asked for feedback from people who have successfully grown violets. What a laugh! How do you prevent violets?
