I don’t mow my front yard anymore

Here is a view in early March. Instead, a couple years ago, I pulled out all the grass and replaced it with evergreen ground cover. Here is what I have there now: sweetbox, hellebore, vinca minor, sedum, irises, pink evening primrose, thyme, wintergreen, sweet woodruff, hardy cyclamen and liriope. Shrubs are pieris, azaleas of two or three colors, one small peony, one small ground-hugging spruce, and gray owl juniper. In the warm weather, hostas and bee balm are in the mix. There are tulips and daffodils as well, although I haven’t been planting new tulips and will probably let what’s left disappear gradually. Basically, I’ve put in a number of groundcovers and think I’ll let them fight it out for territory. If they mix, so much the better.
